21 Feb 2007
Palandri Wine’s Visitor Centre has been announced a finalist in the National 2006 Qantas Travel and Tourism Awards to be held this Friday at Star City Casino in Sydney.
Palandri Wine’s Visitor Centre was awarded best Tourism Winery at the WA Tourism Awards in November. The much-anticipated National Awards will see a shortlist of nearly 200 nominees from hotels; properties, attractions, festivals and major events compete in 27 different categories.
Simone Darnell, Palandri Wine’s Cellar Door Manager says, “We are very excited to be announced as a finalist and are proud to be associated in a very strong field of Wineries displaying the highest standard of tourism operators in Australia.”
Palandri’s architecturally distinctive yet approachable Visitor Centre has redefined the cellar door experience for locals and tourists alike.
“We are proud of our achievements and contribution to the tourism industry. Palandri Wines has always been at the forefront of innovation. In our short life we achieved many ‘firsts’ in the areas of marketing, product development and consumer experience. The Visitor Centre is integral part of these efforts and it is fantastic to be acknowledged by the industry.” Simone went on to say.
Located on the Bussell Highway just ten minutes north of Margaret River, the Palandri Visitor Centre welcomes close to 100,000 visitors annually. The modern, state-of-the-art winery comprises a café, a cellar door boasting one of the best gift shops in the region, and a production facility capable of processing 4,500 tonnes of fruit a year.
